Apply the serum as part of your evening skincare routine. Massage into cleansed skin on the face, neck and décolleté, then leave to absorb. Introduce gradually. In the first few weeks, apply the serum only 2-3 times a week. Over time, you can increase the frequency of application.

The retinal encapsulation technology uses biomimetic phospholipid micelles based on hydrated lecithin, which form stable nanostructures with amphiphilic architecture. The hydrophobic core of the micelles (lipid tails) promotes the incorporation of lipophilic retinal molecules, while the hydrophilic shell allows the system to remain in stable dispersion in an aqueous environment. Due to the limited stability of retinal in classic formulations, micellar technology is a justified approach to its delivery while maintaining high skin compatibility. The biomimetic similarity of lecithin phospholipids to the building blocks of the hydrolipid barrier may promote the integration of nanostructures with skin structures and the deposition of the active substance within the epidermis. The presence of stable nanostructures and their size (on average approx. 50 nm) have been confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

The 0.06% serum is for those who already have some retinoid experience and want a stronger effect. This medium-strength retinal offers more intensive anti-ageing benefits than 0.03%, yet it’s still formulated to be well-tolerated (thanks to the encapsulated retinal and added EGF, glucosyl naringin, and hydroxyapatite). In practice, 0.06% will firm your skin faster, smooth wrinkles more noticeably, and fade pigmentation more effectively compared to 0.03%. It’s the next step up – you should consider it once your skin handled the 0.03% (or a retinol) with ease and you’re looking to boost your results.
The key is to increase strength gradually. When you finish your course of 0.03% and move to 0.06%, don’t jump to nightly use immediately. Start by using ETERNA VIVA just once in the first week (and use your previous 0.03% or a plain moisturiser on the other nights). In week 2, apply it twice (with several days between), and in week 3, try every other night. Only after about a month – if your skin shows no signs of irritation – consider using it nightly. Throughout this transition, keep watching your skin’s reactions. If you notice redness or flakes, scale back to give your skin more time to adjust.
Eventually, yes, if your skin tolerates it well. But to start, use it only every 2–3 nights for a few weeks. If things go smoothly (no persistent irritation), you can work up to nightly application. Remember though: you don’t have to use it every single day to get great results – many people stick to 3–4 nights a week long-term and see significant improvements. What matters more is consistent use over the months rather than a daily schedule achieved too quickly. At the first sign of irritation (excessive dryness, redness), revert to a less frequent schedule for a while. Your skin’s comfort is the best guide on whether daily use is appropriate.
Think of it as adjusting your routine rather than overhauling it. With a stronger retinoid like 0.06%, you’ll want to support your skin with gentle cleansing and plenty of hydration. Use a mild, non-stripping cleanser (avoid harsh scrubs or high-percentage acids on the same nights) and make sure to apply a nourishing moisturiser after the serum to keep your skin supple. It’s wise to put other potent treatments (strong acid peels, other retinoids) on pause or use them on nights when you’re not using the 0.06%. You can absolutely continue with things like a vitamin C serum in the morning – in fact, antioxidants in the AM and retinal in the PM make a great combo. In summary, keep your regimen simple: let 0.06% be the star of your night routine, and support it with gentle, soothing products (and always SPF in the daytime).
A 0.06% retinal will work more powerfully, so you’ll likely see improvements sooner than with 0.03%. After about 4–6 weeks of regular use, many people notice their skin is smoother and has more of a “glow” – early fine lines may soften and pores can appear smaller. At around the 2–3 month mark, the anti-ageing effects really kick in: increased collagen production helps firm the skin and reduce wrinkles, and sun spots or post-acne marks should fade more noticeably. Compared to 0.03%, the 0.06% serum often delivers more visible results within the first few months of use. Just keep in mind, it’s not an overnight miracle – the best results come with continued, consistent use. The longer you use it (with good tolerance), the more your skin will transform and improve.
